Over 470 Cars Show Up to M.J.T

The 50th annual Run to the Rapids Car Show was held on Sunday, May 21 with record numbers!

Towpath Radio and River Rat Country were on hand Sunday morning and afternoon as classic cars from all over the state of Ohio and Michigan showed up to celebrate the 50th Run to the Rapids. One man told Towpath Media he drove all the way from Columbus, Ohio.

Organizers from the Toledo Area Street Rods told Towpath Media that 150-200 cars are usually entered into the show. This year there were more than 470 entries with classic cars packing every corner of Mary Jane Thurston State Park.

The event started with hot rods roaring into the park, once everyone was settled the crowd stood for the National Anthem. Food trucks, venders, and contests were held throughout the day.

The day's events wrapped with an awards ceremony and a moment of silence for those who passed over the last year, including Gary Shores.
