State Patrol Investigates Fatal Crash in Waterville Township

Waterville –The Toledo Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal

crash on US 24 near SR 64 in Waterville Township, Lucas County. The crash occurred on

November 29, 2022 at approximately 4:07 p.m.

A 2006 Kenworth T800 was eastbound on US 24 driven by William Ogle, age 46 of

Oregon, Ohio. A 1998 Isuzu Trooper driven by Bryan Barker, age 54 of Liberty Center,

Ohio was also eastbound on US 24. Mr. Barker failed to maintain an assured clear

distance, and struck Mr. Ogle in the rear trailer.

Mr. Ogle did not sustain any injuries as a result of the crash. Mr. Barker was taken by

ground ambulance to Toledo Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash. Safety belts are unknown at this time

for Mr. Barker.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by Waterville Police Department,

Waterville Township Police Department, and Waterville Fire Department.

The crash remains under investigation.
